Cognitive Science

Overview

Cognitive Science is an interdisciplinary field which draws from areas such as linguistics, computer science, psychology, biology, anatomy, neuroscience, and philosophy, with the goal of understanding mind and intelligence. The faculty members in the program, drawn from departments across UK, often engage in cross-disciplinary research collaborations in order to advance our own respective fields. Our graduate students earn the Cognitive Science certificate, and our undergraduate students can become Cognitive Science minors. Each spring, a UK Cognitive Science Symposium is held, in which researchers from UK and surrounding schools present their ideas and share their different perspectives. The CGS 500 survey course is taught each spring semester.
